Ancascocha Trek Itinerary

Day 1Driving to Lares & Hike to Blue Lagoon campsite

Ancascocha trail Peru – our Trekking team is going to pick you up at 4:00 at your hotel for a drive for 2 hours to trailhead Soqma (3,205 m / 10,512 ft). Also there we will meet the rest of our hiking staff.
The Ancascocha hike begins with a gradual uphill for about 2 hours until Perolnoyoc Waterfall, where we will make a small offering because is a sacred place for the locals and time to take photos. later will continue to the Inca site with the same name which is located in the upper part with incredible views.

Our lunch is also in the Perolniyoc Inca site, after, still our Ancascocha hike continues uphill for about 1 hour more towards Rayan, where we will camp at 3,700m (12,139ft). Here we will have our tea time appreciating the landscape and finally our dinner before seeing the Andean constellations in the sky.

Day 2Rayan - Kuychiccasa Pass - Ancascocha

Today and the next day is not necessary to set an alarm as our team will wake you up with a cup of hot tea and hot water to take a dry shower – Ancascocha trail Peru.

After breakfast, we are going to fill in our water bottles to start our Ancascocha Hike for another 3 hours uphill until Kuychiccassa pass at 4.450m (14,599ft), along this trail we will see shepherds of alpacas, sheep, farms, and wildlife.

After lunch we will continue 30 minutes more in ascent until to get the summit and get the breathtaking views in 360 ° of the Veronica snow peak at 5,822m (19,100ft), later we will continue a 3 hours normal hike towards Ancascocha community at 3,700 m (12,139ft) to our camping. Once we arrive our team will be waiting ready with the tents set up, to have our tea time followed by our dinner.

Day 3Ancascocha - Huaynay Pass - Quesqa Valley - Paucarcancha

Again our hiking team will wake you up with hot tea and a delicious breakfast, our Ancascocha hike begins again in ascent for 1 hour until to get an amazing view of the glaciers, Inca sites, and a blue lake of Ancascocha. after a short break still, we have another 2 hours uphill until the summit of all Ancascocha Hike called Huayanay at 4,650 (15,255ft), here we will have amazing views and after taking photos will start to descend until to our lunch spot at the Ancascocha trail Peru.

continuing, after lunch, the afternoon hike is easier toward our campsite at Paucarcancha Community ( 3,133 m / 10,278 ft), from here we will have the opportunity to see in the distance the original Inca trail. here also our guide will explain to you about the Inca site of this place before our dinner and another night.

Day 4Paucarcancha - Kilometer 82 - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

Today is the easer day, all the trail is way down towards the KM 82 (Piscacucho), the beginning of the Original Inca Trail where we will have our lunch. Along the trail, we will pass to many groups of trekkers that are doing the classic Inca Trail, and also will visit some Inca Sites where our guide explains to you the history.

After lunch, will say goodbye to our trekking staff and give them some appreciation later we will board our car to drive to Ollantaytambo at 2,792m (9,169ft), where we will have free time to explore the town until hour dinner time at a local restaurant.

Finally, after dinner we will board our train that will conduce us to Aguas Calientes, we will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and take a rest for the next amazing day.

Day 5Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Today the hotel will provide you breakfast; after we are going to board the Bus to travel for 30 minutes to the Machu Picchu Entrance.

Once we are ready we will enter to explore the Inca site of Machu Picchu with our guide, He will introduce you the history and will go to explore the temples, houses, and more for about 2 hours, all the time following the new regulations of our government for Covid-19 disease.

If you requested the additional entrance for the peak of Machupicchu or Waynapicchu we will show you the main entrance to start your hike on your own.

Finally, we will back to Aguas Calientes for a lunch on your own at a local restaurant, where our guide provide you with the train ticket to back to Ollantaytambo where our driver will be waiting for you to transfer to your hotel in Ancascocha trail Peru.

  • Trekking Equipment.During the trek we will transport 8 kg of your belongings for that will provide you a duffle bag, also a rain poncho, plus a backpack cover.
  • Campin EquipmentWe use the best possible equipment for mountain activities for your comfort and safety. Tents for up to 4 people, we use only for 2 people, as well as spacious dining tents.
  • Tour support team.We include staff that will make your trip unforgettable, such as the guide, cook, cook's assistant, porters and muleteers.

What is not included?

  • Single Roomif you require a single room has an extra cost.
  • Gratuities for the team.Tipping is a common tradition on any kind of tour, normally the group participants collect their tips to hand out to the muleteers, chefs and guides. Although we pay a good salary to all our team, always an extra is welcome for them.
  • Meals not mentioned.The dinner of the last day.
  • Trekking poles.

    Walking sticks with rubber tips are highly recommended to make easy your hilke. If you dont have, dont worry, we can rent them US$ 15.

  • Sleeping Bagfor this tour it is necessary to bring your -15°C sleeping bag, if you don't have them we can rent them for you US$ 20.
  • Travel insurance: It is not mandatory, but it is recommended that you purchase one to protect yourself financially from any lost excursions.

Pricing & Departure Dates

The Trek can leave on any day of the week, from March to January. we dont leave on february because rain a lot.

The departured are 100% guaranted, because we operate since two travelers.

Land Cost

Group Service Price: $ 750.00  US$ 670 per person.

Required Deposit:  To book, you need to make a pre payment of US$ 200.00 per person by PayPal.

Balance: it is US$ 470.00, the remaining balance can be paid online by Paypal in advance, or in Cusco at briefing with cash (recommend) .

Notice: If your are going to pay the balance with credit or debit car is a charges 5%. that have to be covered by the clients, this tax is jus for the remaining balance, or can be pay in Cusco with cash without tax before estar the tour.

Hotel

On this tour the last night will be spent in the town of Aguas Calientes before visiting Machu Picchu. For which we include a three star hotel with double, triple or triple rooms.
If you want to upgrade the quality of the hotel or prefer a single room, there will be an additional cost.

These Mountains can be visited after finishing the guided tour of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.

  • Huayna Picchu Mountain: US $ 50 this is the famous mountain behind the archaeological site of Machu Picchu. it takes 50 minutes up, and another 40 to back, you can climb this mountain once finished the guided tour of Machu Picchu. The entry to this mountain has an extra cost, and need to be book in advance.
  • Machu Picchu Mountain: US $ 50This is the other mountain who surrounds the archaeological site of Machu Picchu, it is less popular than Huayna Picchu and takes 1.5 hour up.  Also requires an extra entry that cost .
